i need major help. i feel like i am about to have a heartattack.

i was trying to do a fix for my 08 g35 sedan. it is auto without nav. i was attempting to disable the safety feature that prevents video from playing while the car is moving. i got the walkthrough off of here. it had my terminate two wires behind the stereo system. i did this (and yes it was the correct wires) and when i put it all back together, my car will not start. in fact, whenever i try to turn it off completely, its turns right back onto the ACC. i reconnected the wires to how they were and disconnected the battery as i am typing this.

my initial thought was that the batt needed to be disconnected to reset itself. since our cars do not have a key position, it was stuck in the ACC.

what do you think?

please agree with me.... :/

i just checked all my connections and everything is secure. does something need to be reset? negative batt cable was disconnected all night and i do not think i can do the ECU reset because the ignition button is not acting right.

is there another way?

my only suspicion is that a fuse is below or i fouled up a relay somehow.

please friends, i really need some help. i need to fix this before the weekend is over.

images of diagnostic screens are here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir? ... feat=email

all errors are congruent with the symptoms i listed above (cluster and A/C)

what is the most likely cause?

I noticed that the speed sensor is not picking up, as you can see (one of those pictures i was moving 10mph in Drive.)

could this wire possibly not be connected properly and would this cause these problems?

Whenever you work on your cars electrical system, always disconnect the battery!!

Check out this thread...it may help you figure out which wires you used.

Check out the FSMs in my sig. They have wiring diagrams that show what every wire in the system.

Another option is to bring it to the dealer...just don't volunteer any info.

did your wiring harness match up exactly with the one from the picture?

if you grounded both of the E-brake wires then you created a ground-loop through them and that could be the cause of your problems. You should only have grounded the wire coming from the wire connection so that the screen gets a grounded signal. By grounding both sides you may have caused internal problems to the system or a fuse/relay somewhere.

thanks for looking at my thread, john. i opened her back up today and took a few more pictures. here they are:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir? ... feat=email
if you will look at this album, one photo shops the back of the AV Unit. the screwdriver points to the connector that i modified.
the other photo shows the wires that i cut. the grey one should have been the VSS and the blue the ebrake.

as you can see, the VSS is cut short so i will need to solder this - i plan to do so when i finally get this figured out.

john, i emailed you in response to your comment about the ground loop. that is what i suspected. what fuses and/or relays could be affected?

thanks again. everyone on this board is super.

john, come to think of it, since we now know that i did not disconnect the battery when i was doing al of this (yes, i know...dumb) i remember that the A/C was still blowing. i grounded both ends of the ebrake wire then when i put it all back together it stopped blowing. then i had the problems... it must be the issue with the ground-loop.
