So we just got hit by hurricane katrina down here in miami. The company I work for is a bunch of money-hungry ***holes and I had to work last night. With all the rain and all the parking lot got flooded and my car got flushed through with water.

I'm not exactly sure if water got in through the intake, but I want to know what I should do before I try to fire it up. (I really hope it's not the end).

So far I understand that I should change the battery, oil. Take off the intercooler and intake manifold and make sure there's no water in there.

Is there anything else I need to do like change the ecu or is that box water tight. I don't know how long it'll last at in that parking lot and it will be a pain in the *** to tow the car since it's so slammed (that's what got me in this mess to begin with

I hope this isn't the end of my love . I wonder if I could sue those bastards for making me work.

after changing the fluids and battery, take out the spark plugs and crank it for a while to get most all of the water out. shouldnt hurt it too much with some mist in there... as long as theres no pools of water in your intake, or cylinder chambers, then itll be fine (i hope) good luck man, sorry to hear you got washed.

if water got inside the cabin, check the ecu and make sure it didnt get wet, if it did try to dry it off as good as you can and hope it works, chances are that it wouldnt though if it was flooded
