So we just got hit by hurricane katrina down here in miami. The company I work for is a bunch of money-hungry ***holes and I had to work last night. With all the rain and all the parking lot got flooded and my car got flushed through with water.I'm not exactly sure if water got in through the intake, but I want to know what I should do before I try to fire it up. (I really hope it's not the end).

So far I understand that I should change the battery, oil. Take off the intercooler and intake manifold and make sure there's no water in there.

Is there anything else I need to do like change the ecu or is that box water tight. I don't know how long it'll last at in that parking lot and it will be a pain in the *** to tow the car since it's so slammed (that's what got me in this mess to begin with

I hope this isn't the end of my love . I wonder if I could sue those bastards for making me work.

Somebody please help. I'm really stuck at what to do here

How high did the water come up?

Look for a waterline. If it made it into the cabin it's totaled. As for your engine, make an educated guess as to what the water could have potentially gotten on\into.

Exchange all oils, trans, engine, and diff. Pull the ECM out and dry it out. It is not water tight. After your fluid exchange, Remove you spark plugs and hand crank the engine to see if there is any water in the cyl and to be sure it wont hydrolock. Once you determine it wont lock up crank it over with the plugs out. any water in the cyl will blow out through the plugs holes. Remove your air filter and see if water got in there. If you cant see traces of water inside you will probably be ok there. Make sure your ECM connector is dry then you can button it up and it should be drivable.

waterline? the water made it high enough to wet all the seats, but not high enough to get into the dash or glovebox. I'm getting it towed to my house tomorrow and will begin by getting all the water out and gutting the interior (it smells like moldy *** in there)
