So Im upgrading pretty much my whole setup now but kinda stuck. I just purchased a GT2871 .64 turbo, Deatchwerks 810cc injectors, z32 MAF, and Tomei 256/256 cams, AND will get Enthalphy tune this week. I emailed the guys over at Enthalphy and the guy called me within 20 mins!!! I was highly pleased with the quickness of their reply.

I listed all the mods/parts that are in my setup and he said that it was an awsome arangement but that he recommednded 264 cams instead and a hard pipe for the intake. Below is the email I sent with the list of mods I have:

Hi I am interested in getting my tune with you guys since Ive heard a lot of
good stuff about Enthalphy from the Nissan community. I do have a few questions
though, Im fairly new with turbos and tuning so I want to be sure about what
will be done. The biggest concern to me is boost. How do I know how much boost
could be ran on my car and to what degree is it safe?

A lot of people with similar setups to mine run from 16 to 19 psi boost and get
numers from 350whp to 420whp. Is boost something you guys set while tuning the
ecu or do I have to figure that out on my own with an electronic boost
controller? I do have a Greddy Profec B II boost controller but do not have the
valve solenoid. I want to get the most power out of my car but to a certain
point since my bottom end is completely stock. Basically 350-400+ whp and some
torque to match would be awsome. This will be a daily driver in Chicago IL with
some spirited driving in between.

The following is a list of mods on my car...

Redtop SR20DET with stock T25
3 angle valve job to head
ARP head studs
Cometic head gasket not sure on thickness though.. I do know its a 88mm bore
Tomei Poncam 256/256 degree camshafts
Tomei rocker arm stoppers
Greddy intake manifold
NGK heat rating 7 spark plugs
Deatschwerks 810cc injectors
Nismo adjustable FPR
Walbro 255 L/HR fuel pump
Garrett GT2871 .64 AR turbo
Peak Performance exhaust manifold
Titek turbo elbow/outlet
COMPLETE Apexi N1 exhaust AND Apexi GT downpipe
Apexi intake with OEM rubber intake hose
Z32 N62 MAF
Greddy front mount intercooler
Greddy cold pipe
Greddy hot pipe with Greddy RS BOV (will run UNrecirculated)
Fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel

The guy told me that the boost is up to me to decide with the boost controller and that he would literally walk me through it over the phone to set it. For some reason I am really thinking about setting it at 20psi. Does that sound about right to you guys or is it too much? I dont want to blow something up. Keeping in mind my bottom end is STOCK!

Also I do not yet have the Nismo FPR, but I included it in the list because I intended in getting it. He said that I DO NOT need it!! He said "there is no point in spending an extra $200 if you dont need it, thats what the tune is for"

Is this true?? Just about everyone with a similar setup as me has a adjustable FPR.

Cams I do not have yet either, Scott over at Touge Factory mentioned 256s are awsome, but the guy at Enthalphy recommended 264s instead. Im actually leaning over to 264s now for that mid ranger power...

Any help would be appreciated to the fullest!!!!!!!!

Best advice = get a real tune (dyno tune)

i would never trust someone's "guess" estimate tune for my builds...

tuning is what makes or breaks the car, its the determining factor for some many aspects of the build.

so if possible, get a full dyno tune

I appreciate the "help" but I have already decided to go with a Enthalphy rom tune and there is no way Im changing my mind on that. There are countless threads all over the internet that compliment Enthalphys tuning, and all positive.

Its not a lack of orientation from the guys at Enthalphy but a lack of MY knowledge towards turbo setups and tuning...

Not trying to start anything with you or insult your intelligence badbob, but your post did not help at all.

I actually got a hold of them over the phone a few minutes ago and he answered my question...

Boost issue:

"If your bottom end is stock you can boost up to 18psi safely. I mean you have 810cc injectors which you can boost all the way up to 25psi, you just gotta watch your AFR and make sure you're not running lean"

FPR issue:

"Yea definetly you will not need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator"
