I broke the timing belt on my 89 SE V6 4x4 and need to re-align the cam pulleys and get #1 cyl to TDC. Im hoping I
didnt bend valves, I was just letting the clutch out, heard a POP and it died. My first thought was the T-belt so I did not try to start it and after tearing it down I" was right. So how do I get #1 to TDC and pass. side cam pulley 20-25 degrees counter clockwise to the alignment mark (driver side is on the mark) without damaging it now?

You'll need to reference the FSM for the position the cam needs to be in. You'll also have to have the valve covers off. On the cam there should be a cast hex area where you can fit a wrench to turn it, however it the T belt is off then you can rotate it by hand. Just make sure you go slow and if you run into resistance don't force it. To get the bottom end to TDC you can just put a long socket on the crank bolt and slowly turn it. Yet again, if you get some good resistance then don't force it. The FSM will walk you through the whole process start to finish though. It's going to be your best friend at the end of this.
