Ok here's the situation: i removed my SOHC engine and removed the brake lines. and for some stupid reason, i forgot to take the front wheels off. So now im trying to get to the front struts to replace them but i cant' because everytime i turn the lugs the whole wheels moves. Does anyone have any ideas that would help me do this? i tried putting fluid in the resovoir and pumping the brakes to get the air out and using them, but all the air escapes through the brake booster hose. I plugged that hose but still nothing... any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i know i made a stupid mistake, but now im trying to get out of it. the car is an '89 coupe w/o ABS. thanks.

lower the car to the ground so it adds weight and pressure to the wheels, then try it again.

The car is on jack stands, and i wanted to avoid having to lower it and then raise it again.. and im saving that option for a last resort. but thank you for the suggestion.

thanks guys... the tire was too low to jack up, so i just wedged the jack between the tire and the floor and it caught in the tread of the tire and held enough for me to take the lugs off... !! thanks again

In the future, take a long prybar and put it parallel to the car and in between two of the studs, as you rotate the wheel with the breaker bar, the pry bar will hit the floor or body of the car, allowing you to break them loose. Works like a charm.
