I definately will now that i see this post.. I turned lights on and voila, they came on and then they immediately went to HIGHS.. i was like NOOOOO!! found a stop and attempted to insert another 10amp fuse, but it would spark as im inserting it. I took it out and looked at it and it broke that lil line.. They i looked on the teeth of the fuse, and omg... One of the teeth look like a pitbull got to it.. I was like daym!.. Ill get pics up tomorro when more light is here. So im guessing its either the bulb or corrosion of sockets. i'll check tomorro and ill let yall know.

If you're dropping fuses quickly now, buy a handful and unplug each socket assembly one at a time. It is also possible that the problem is in the brake lamp sensor - so look under there.

I still wouldn't discount something funky with a ballast or other part of your HID installation as well. In any case I would start unplugging things one at a time to isolate the issue.

Good luck!

Heath

took it to the shp and they are in the blues too.. They looked thru the trucnk area. Guy says its got to be somewhere between the fuse box and the headlights.. Thats what he thinks. He said he ohmed the fuse box and something about one has a 12v and the other is 0. He says he thinks a wire somewhere has been grounded out and is touching the body of the car. He said he looked at the ballast for the HID but said he wants to look over it again monday morning.. Why this is , i dont know. Nothing has been changed to my car. I havent done anything to my car in a while besides an oil change.. But he says he know he can fix it.. Just needs time. I was thinking maybe the radio wire, he said he doubbts it was that... So thats the limbo im in right now ppl. PRAY FOR ME... for the Q is giving me the blues.!! About the brake lamp sensor.. I dunno where that is, but ill tell him to have a look.. The guy give me a wiring diagram trynna tell me its between "here and here", im like .. i cant read this crap!!! Anyways yall.. i wuv yall>!

My dad has a 92 Q45 with alarm system and had the same problem. Even the flash markers & tail lights would'nt come on. The problem was the box with all the wires in it under the rear seat behind the driver which Infiniti told him. You could take your car to the dealer for this or find a junker and pull the part. My 90 Q45 does the same thing because I spilt some drink when the car was on a incline. Maybe it's just time to replace it. I don't know the tech who fixed it but here's the number (253) 231-4300 & tell them what's wrong with your car (symptoms) & they should have an answer for you! Also if all fails ask for Alexandria Burton she helped my dad and may pull some paper work. I'm going to call myself. YESir

I just talked to her she said it was the harness connector under the seat M219/T3 connector corroded and burned. You're better off calling her the number's on top of this post.

Wow.. what a crazy thing.. All this drama was because of a ACC wire in the radio. Somehow it came disconnected and was touching body of car. I took it of and fixed he problem and made sure it wouldnt happen again.. In return i also had to make another ground because the ground wire running to the radio has no more ground... Thats crazy.. Im happy i was able to really find this problem before i messed up more stuff.

Damn.

I'm sorry to hear that. I just went through the entire thread and it was just bad news all over. I just got over my own G50 troubles. Spent $1800 in two weekends.

But the fuel pump is an easy fix. You'll be fine. Wish you luck on the electrical issue.

ive got an idea.. And i need real help here.. OK.. as for the alarm.. I removeed all fuses and the light syystem still acting up. Still no head light, no park, no tail and no illumination. Mech has tried all he can and said he can understand wtf is really going on. Now i have a few ideas and i need to know if im stupid for thinking so because i dont want to go digging and mess up something else. At one point of time during this thread i dont know if i mentione it, my radio had went out. And would not come on. Come to find out I had an ACC wire loose (the red one). So i went ahead and reconnected it and clamped it. And still woulndt work, come to find out. The ground went out. was using the ground that was used from the origanl radio. I mean, i udsed tha harness, but wen i test the ground, It was not working at all. I even used a test light on it. So i went ahead and ran a new ground which is what im using and now radio works great. Now im thinking with all this thinking, does the light system have a ground that may have been tied or connected to that of the radio?.. I know i make no sense, but kinda scoop to my level of intelligence. Now if not that, What about the switch. Yes, the switch on the steering column. Im sure those dont go out often, but is there a possibility its dead. maybe not shooting power, or not sending the correct remote or data? Sounds silly, but im out of ideas. For those who didnt catch this earlier... When i start the car with the remote start (791xv) My park, tail, and illumination blink. Thats when its on the remote start. Its supposed to blink like that, that just leats u know car is on remote start. I asked the techs who hooked up the alarm, how come the lights work then, but when i have key in and doing it the normal way, its dead. he said because the alarm has its own suplied power, and its just tied to the headlight system.. So what yall think I really need help.. Ill get the fuel pump later.. Car did start back up.

.......I'm so confused. Remote start, alarm (aftermarket?), radio (aftermarket?), interior lights (LED's?). It seems like there's a bunch of issues but it could all be tied back to one simple problem. The gremlins have been gnawing at you for over a month now and it might be worth checking a couple of things one more time.

Look at the brake lamp modules again. Are the wires at the socket brittle, or insulation burned? Are the leads that contact the bulbs intact and not melting. Fresh bulbs? Sylvannia 1057 LL bulbs in the brake lamps?

The ILL(umination) fuse and tail lamp fuse in the engine compartment fuse box are working? Checked with a magnifying glass or voltmeter? IIRC, They're the 3rd and 4th fuses in the middle row.

How about the stop and brake lamp sensor under the trunk lock? A couple of weeks ago my daughter told me my brake lights weren't working in the 90Q except for the 3rd brake light. I put in my backup sensor for the 94 and the brake lights worked but the tail lamps quit working. I ordered a new one from IOS ($90) and in the meantime resoldered the faulty unit and restored all the lights. Are there any Q owners close you can swap sensors with for a couple of minutes rather than buying a new one?

Lesson learned... Do not install a remote start on a Q45.

Seems like all this nonsense is traced back to when owners add options incompetently.

OKay.. problem, Traced found and fixed!!!... U would not believe it tho Shot at 2009-05-10Shot at 2009-05-10Shot at 2009-05-10 Yes.. That connector i have in my hand is sitting right there on the side of the fuse box under the hood. A wire had broke and was touching the body of the car> Which is what cause the fuse to always pop. And mess up all the things that i said were messed up. Took the mechs some time just to trace the problem.. And were very determined rather than doing it my way by just rewireing the headlights. Problems over with... All this because i wire got old and broke.. POS.
