I have recently installed a rebuilt engine and the header is glowing orange. I have the SOHC engine. Engine mods include. PDM cam mid profile. 5 angle valve job on cylinder head. Raised compression ratio at 11.1 by both shaving the cylinder head and the block. Over bore piston. Balanced crank with fidanza Flywheel and asp pulley attached. both intake and exhaust are also port matched. I had it on idle for 15 minutes and until I noticed the glowing orange header. Any suggestions?

wow. umm... I can't see it being possible that it's running lean enough at idle to make the header get that hot. what's your idle speed?

it's idling at 750 but I think I figured it out. I had the spark plug cable in a wrong sequence 180 degree out of phase at first so what happened was that it flooded with gas and when it finally started it had to burn all the excess gas so it ran lean until it burned it all out and it's now idling good, and seems so powerful. Can't wait to take it out on the street
