HELP HELP Car Wont Start

so this started yesterday. car wont start for the life of it. will start if i push start it but thats hard to do if ur by urself. so let me describe the symptoms. car wont start at all. no noise no ticking. i thought it was the starter relay, so i got a new one and installed but no luck. i did check if the rubber gromet behind the clutch pedal was worn but it wasnt that cuz i held down the swith with my finger and tried starting the car but no luck. now im thinking its my alarm (clifford concept 400) since it has a starter and ignition kill. but the alarm seems to be working fine since i havent messed with it one bit since it was installed. it was installed like 3 years ago so its been a while. any idea what it could be? if i heard ticking, then it would be the starter but there is no noise. the engine doesnt turn over or anything. HELP PLEASSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE

is the starter the black circular thingy on the firewall on the passenger side or does it sit next to the transmission down below?

yeah, im not sure of the exact placement, but it is down near the transmission. im pretty sure u have to drop the transmission some to replace it.

ive heard if u tap them with a hammer it could make the car start again. obviously this isnt a fix, more of a test. has something to do with how the teeth line up. my starter went bad and left me in a parking lot, no noise at all when i turned the key except a single click noise.

starter it could be

pop the hood and go to the passender side, look down on your left hand side you shoudl see a round cylinder shaped object, hit it, crank for 1 sec, hit it, crank for 1 sec, do it 10 times, if the car starts then it's the starter

that thing on the firewall is the windshield wiper motor. the starter is in the only place that it could start a motor from. attached to the flywheel.

what color is the round cylinder thing? is it as big as a fist? up top or down below? thanks

is it silver and sits on the side of the hump where the struts bolt into?

my bad. well it turned out to be the starter cuz we did the "knock it with a hammer" technique and the car started. the symptoms were really weird tho cuz there was no ticking. but im gonna locate a starter asap cuz this was the most stressful thing of my week and i need to get the car running. hope this helps anyone else.

I had mine go out last month and replaced it for 115 and it took me 24min from start to clean up you dont have to drop the transmission its 2 bolts and 1 wire to take off and put on no biggy
