Hi! I really need help with my 2004 Pathfinder Armada and I hope you guys can help me with some ideas. The Armada (BRUNO) has a water sloshing noise coming from the glove compartment. We have had it at the dealership for a total of 3 weeks off and on. There has to be an air pocket somewhere but no one can find the leak where the air is getting in.A list of everything that has been doneNEW RADIATORRADIATOR FLUSH...NUMEROUS TIMESnew hoses (FOUND SOME LEAKS)NEW RADIATOR CAP (found it wasn't closing properly)After all of this and a few hundred dollars worth of labor , the truck still has a sloshing noise. None of the certified Nissan techs can tell us what is wrong. There should only be a few options left as to what could possibly be wrong. I am afraid driving it will do futher damage although they have tried to reassure us it won't Please help a lady out:((((

I wish I had an answer or an idea of what the problem might be. I would suggest calling to a few other Nissan dealers and speak with someone in service, see if they have come acroos this before, and if nothing else, bring that baby into another dealer to hopefully solve the problem once and for all. Good luck to you! Let me know how things turn out.

Thanks for your post. They figured out that there was still air in the cooling line. Now we are dealing with no heat. Think it is the thermostat. We are in talks to get out of it and into a new one. ps..tell all your friends...NEVER BUY A CAR FROM CARMAX. We found out today that the Armada they sold us was wrecked and they knew about it but failed to disclose b/c it was 25% of the car!!! I am working a campaign to send around emails about how dirty they did us. So everyone you come into contact with spread the word.

We know now buying from a dealership is always worth the extra cash!!!Thanks

the service center is now saying the the water neck is leaking. Have you every heard of this? Could this have been my problem all along and now why my heat doesn't work? They found it when the were bleeding it and trying to get air out from behind the heater core.

thanks

I am not an Armada owner, so I don't this for sure.. but I'll make a few assumptions here.

The sloshing noise is coming from the heater core which is behind the glove box. The reason you are getting a sloshing noise is because their is air inside the heater core. The heater core should be only coolant that is routed from the engine into the heater core. If a container is completely fluid, it won't slosh when moved. But if it's both fluid and air, the fluid will slosh around. This is why you get that sound. This is also why you are getting no heat!!!

You have a leak somewhere that is allowing air to enter the system and get caught in the heater core. Might be the little necks that make the inlet and outlet to the heater core itself. Or it might be at another point in the system and the heater core is simply the point that is collecting that air.

What the tech's need to do is rig up a way to pressurize the entire coolant system with compressed air to help locate the leaking point. They can cover everything with soapy water so that when the air escapes it will make bubbles on the surface.

If they are doing all this work under warranty, I'd push them to replace the heater core and the inlet and outlet lines completely. If this is on your dime.. I'd take it to another shop. This isn't rocket surgery (he he) .
