I was wondering if this is normal or not...
Lowered my car last weekend and ever since I have had this loud thump after I go over SOME bumps. It is weird because there is a bump into my driveway, I go over 3 speedbumps on the way to work every day and I don't get the sound on those. But the small sudden potholes or where old payment meets new pavement I get this loud thump! I though maybe it was because the struts were loose, but I tightened them as tight as I could. I also get this same noise if i take a sharp turn fast. It feels like something is really loose, but when the car was on the lift, I double, triple, and quadruple checked EVERYTHING! Also when I got a mount and balance the tech there looked over everything and he said it looked good, but that he thinks the struts are just too long now. My friend used to have coilovers in his old car and said he remembers that same sounds and it was just the s*** part to having coilovers. I am so lost and this is the first car I have ever lowered, kinda freaking out here! :wtf2:

Check the ends of your endlinks that connect to your sway bar

If you're getting a thump, something is definitely loose! Re-check and tighten everything.

^ Don't just tighten the struts. Tighten everything you can around your wheel hub. I had a similar thump in the rear, and it turned out to be one of the larger bolts in the rear passenger side hub.

Also check the center tightening nut on your struts. It's below the damping knob on my BC set. I had that thump and it got worse and worse. I had to put loctite on the center nut to keep it from coming loose.

Thanks Alex, I guess I forgot to tighten them with anything other than my hand. I don't know why I waited this long to fix them, but luckily I did they only had about two threads left before hey ended up on the side of the road. They practically fell off once I pulled the wheels off.

As an update though...holy hell these springs couldn't be more perfect. Car sits pretty low, suspension is really stiff (just like I wanted), and a drastic difference in body roll!

They're amazing aren't they? I just got mine installed earlier this week. Obvioulsy not as good as coils, but for the price they can't be beat
