I found a s13 Blacktop sr20det for $900. Comes with NO TURBO. Guy says piston #1 is blown, but the other 3 run fine. Ive looked at it and there seems to be no oil leaks. Its got a Tomei Head Gasket, Exedy Stage 2 Clutch, Fidanza 11lb Flywheel. I plan on rebuilding anyways. GOOD BUY OR BAD BUY? thanks...

Well if he blew a piston then the block is going to have to be hot tanked, checked for cracks, bored, and milled, crank balanced, etc. I would suggest the same with the head.

then if you plan on rebuilding I don't know what you plan on rebuilding with, but you'll need pistons, rods, bearings, etcSo it's up to you really if you have the money then good luck

if its the motorset, like including transmission, ecu, wiring, etc, then its an ok deal. As in you may be better off buying a motorset thats in working condition.

If its just the long block, then absolutely no. You can buy a good working long block without the turbo for around 900-1000.

Its coming out of a s13..so wiring harness, ecu, motor and transmission are all there..I just figured that even if I bought a running motor..its been beat up on and eventually will need a rebuild anyways.....hope I'm not wrong...

I wouldnt buy it personally IMO, Id rather buy a running swap and then rebuild that after i destroy it, Just make sure you buy it from a reputable place.
