OK its official. Time to upgrade the suspension. I have the Eibach Pro-Kit already. Im ordering everything off this Racingline page + the short shifter

http://racinglineperformance.com/shop/p ... ategory=21

Also getting Front and Back Stoptech Rotors and Hawk pads.

I want to order by next week, so everything comes in time for track day at the Nissan Nationals :dblthumb:

1) Anyone have any good, bad, ugly input on any of this gear, any good reason NOT to go with these items or sugestions on Better choices.

2) Does any one know the weight of the stock 3.5 18" rims? My aftermarket rims are for looks, not performance  I have my stocks still but considering a set of rims just for track.....

id leave the rotors and brakes alone until you NEED to replace them... and even then I dont think you would notice any difference.

get SS brake lines first.

Then turbo.. then BBK, no stopping at aftermarket rotors!

I'm going to estimate the stock 18" wheel setup to be around 50lbs. my 16" wheels and tires weighed at 43lbs on my scale so I'm guessing 45lbs new cuz of all the burnouts I do at the drag strip and driving 22k miles. if you were serious about getting a track setup it'll cost a good 2-2.5g's at least. and if you dont push the car to it's limits now you wont know the difference. To save you some $$$ I say just buy some really good tires and swap them, which if you dont frequently track the car makes more sense. I dont know about anyone else but I've researched the cr*p out of the benifets of wheels n tires so if u got questions for me just ask by PM. I would leave everything alone and add the suspension upgrades and ss lines. It's more of a driver ability more then anything else when racing as well. try to do some auto-x if ur serious though to prepare.

i disagree with not feeling a difference from upgraded rotors and pads. my stockers were warped and i went with Rotora rotors and Hawk pads and could tell immediately that the stopping power was far better then stock.

SS lines Check
Suspension Ups Check
Brakes: On hold untill I burn up these.
Track rims and tires.....I found a place that sells the stamped out genaric black rim that you usualy see hub caps on for $50 each new. Grab a set of them, put some good rubber on them, 16 or 17? (factory is 18", current is 20")

mmmm. if he wants to claim that he'll have to race me!!! I've beaten all 4cyl cars i raced, most v6 cars I've raced, and kept up pretty well with a few v8's!!!! and I'm completely stock as well. I plan to go sub 16 this summer and my first day at the track i did the 1/8 at that pace, oh, not to mention it was a fresh track. SO PHENOM... U HAVE TO BEAT ME :ohno: !!! LMAO

LOL Bret you tard! Its a 3.5SE LOL! Now i feel like dirt lol. "not bad for a 4 cylinder". Thats it! Im putting the little chrome badges back on! And im switching the 3 and the 5 so it will be a 5.3!!! That alone is worth 5HP! :lolling: For real tho, when you and Matt were smoking that STR-4 I just held back. Remember I had my 12yo son in the car. I let off the gas @ 125 and just let you guys go. :dblthumb: Good job BTW on that crazy stunt! You said you hit like 160-165mph? Crazy! :bowrofl:

Any who, the only mechanical mods are Intake, y-pipe, catback and the underdrive pully :)

fyi: the 63 pound rims and tires were for looks only, and they do there job FLAWLESSLY. Hence in my first post and in a few others I talked about getting something a little lighter for the track. And im still undecided....I love my tires and would feel confident with my current setup. World of freaking difference over my old Nitto-Neo-Gens. And this will be my 1st Real Raceway track. I dont plan on getting crazy. I'll be able to say I did it and have some fun :chuckle:

The MR107s were 28 lbs each. The SP10s are $10 more per wheel, and weigh 9lbs less. Or, if you go with the 17-inch versions, they're $10 cheaper, and weigh 13lbs less.

I'm not sorry for resurrecting this thread. This is what happens when you use search sometimes. But...this is/was a joke a post right? I don't know how to post pictures. I took my car to the track one night and ran a 16.036 with 80% humidity, 85° night on a s*** track with STOCK tires up here in the true north jersey @ island Dragway when it was open ( 515ft elevation). Farmers almanac that s*** if you want cause I bet that date had more humidity. Anyway my point is...the BONE STOCK altima 2.5 coupe, 6-speed...is slow as f***. Want my picture of the time slip? Give me your email lol
