Help: G37 M6 2009 w/4500km - Burning smell in the Cabin

Hello all:

I have a 2009 G37 Coupe w/4800km on it. Everytime now and then I get this very bad, I mean extremely bad Burning smell comes inside the car. It almost smell like when you burn the clutch. Why do I get this smell. And I have to open my windows to breath. That's how bad it is.

Anyone is having this issue?

Please help. I spoke to the dealer when I first picked up the car last September 2009. They told me that it is b'cos it has new seals ..bla bla. Now still has the same smell. It smells like burning Clutch. (I dindt burn the clutch, or dont drive hard either).

This happens when I had it parked for a long time and then start driving.

yup... I get that smell- sorts like clutch, sorts like burning oil... But I get it when after driving on the highway for over 15mins... And especially when it's raining. I'd go outside to see where it's coming from and steam is flowing frk the front grill. Lately I haven't Been getting it. Is your issue similar??

Yeah sometimes I get that too. Almost like clutch burning smell. Very bad. Well if you had your car parked...for couple of hrs and then start drviing yuou'll get it... same here..

I dont know what the hell this smell is.. it is very bad....

Your warrenty is still .. I wouldnt sweat it, just make an appointment, take your car in, get a loaner car = have some fun

I'm having the same problems. The smell has been there since day one. The car only has 10 000km. The dealership is in the process of trying to find out whats going on? Have you had any success finding out what can fix the problem? Have you reported these issues to infiniti customer service?

seems to be just canadian models... weird. I haven't heard much of burning smell down here. I do notice that sometimes, a sticker close to a hot part, like a manifold, isn't removed, so it gets burned and stinks up a little.
