HELP! fuse replace results in check eng/ no start....

Earlier today, after my housemate's Honda was stolen, i figured i would use an old trick to render my '91 240sx "unstartable" to any future thiefs (like I used to do daily with my old Honda CRX):

I tried pulling out a 10amp fuse in the main fuse box that reads "10A ENG CONT" so that anyone trying to hotwire my car would have a harder time getting away with it...

And, yes, sure enough, it would not start. So, just like I used to with my crx, i just plugged it back in, thinking it will restart normally. It did not. the check engine light came on, all the other dash lights work, stereo, no crank, no start.

I checked, and fuse isnt blown. i cleaned contacts, switched with other 10a fuses, no luck. i tried removing battery ground 2x in between, thinking this might reset computer, no luck. tried 50+ cranks, nothing....

what did i do?

i guess the next thing is to manually reset the computer...using the instructions in this post:

today i checked car's computer, read codes, reset computer...codes said "55", meaning "everything's normal"

...resetting did not fix problem, still no crank. i suppose i will have to check all connections and fuses...

if anyone has any ideas, let me know...

Yeah, well, it was the starter, and a total coincidence.

I actually tested jumping across the solenoid before taking it in, and it wouldnt crank--but i thought i might have blown something else by the fuse removal...nope.

I wouldve replaced it myself, but there was 6 inches of slush in my driveway. i asked my mech to save the starter--just so i could believe it, and yep, it was frozen....
