help for new owner 97 q45

hi, got it today, 46000 miles. nice! a couple of questions1- my infiniti q45 comes with 215/60-16 tires, will a 225/60-16 tire work well? i need tires and can get a deal on the 225 tires.2- are there any upgrades, or changes in the fluid requirements for the q? for example i have a lincoln mark 8 and we were told to upgrade the transmission fluid from mercon 3 to mercon 5. any such recomendations for the q?3-i've been using 10w-30 engine oil in my mark. i live in south florida and don't get much cold weather. can and should i use this weight oil in the q?4- i live in jupiter, fl. any members in the vicinity and any recomendations for mechanic's in my area?

well you picked a good car. my shop teacher has two mark 8s. nice cars.

your gonna get just as much power, just with 2 extra doors. good luck with the car.

Welcome to Nico. First of all, read everything on http://www.q45.org, and then devote alot of time to reading the archives on this site. I'm in West Palm and I have not found a Q45 tech around here whom I trust. I'm sure everyone will agree that you should not let the average "mechanic" work on your car.Post here any problems you may encounter before anything else. 1.) Since the tires are the only part of the vehicl that interfaces with the road, don't skimp here. Read the sticky tire thread in Infiniti General for starters, and tire rack reviews for more information.

2.) Many use sy thetic ATF with an aftermarket ATF cooler. Some Lube Guard REd may be in order with a change. A mechanical fluid exchange, pan drop, and filter replacement right now could add many miles to your transmission. http://www.bgfindashop.com

3.) 10W- 30 will work fine if it is changed every 3.75K miles. I recommend the M1 filters from Joe over OEM thimbles.
