Help, Fan problem

My climate control fan is acting as All (level 4) or nothing. it doesnt response to 1, 2, and 3 fan level. I thought it is the climate control problem, so i brought another one from junk yard, but it still acts the same. So i am assuming it is something else mass up? help...its getting cold

Hmm, I might be completely wrong here, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am. Some cars have 2 different fans. One fan blows at different speeds depending on what level you have set. An additional fan comes on only at high speed. If this is true in the 240SX(which I'm not really sure), then it sounds like your main fan is not working for some reason.

I had the opposite problem, mine would work on 1,2, or 3, but not 4. I pulled my climate control unit out and tested the switch in the back. There are 4 different prongs and they get different amounts of resistance as you move the switch. Turns out my switch was burned up at the 4 setting, because I wasn't getting a reading at all on that prong. Got one off of ebay, changed out the switches, and it works perfectly now.

Of course, your switch could be burned out at the 1,2, and 3 location, but I highly doubt all 3 would be burned out.

I would check the wiring that connects to the climate control, and just start testing things with a multimeter.
