My 1993 240sx is having a problem with the engine control fuse keeps poping the fuse number is FL25A. i was driveing and the car completly dies and wasnt getting any fuel so originaly i thought it was a fuel pump problem. then i found that the engine control link fuse has poped. so i got a few more and put them in and the car turns over but wont start and the moment i try to start it the new fuse poped. ive read it could be an ECU thing and a Alternator putting to much voltage out but im starting to get frusterated because im about to compete in my first drift contest and my car is dead. i would like some quidence on how to solve this problem.

Something is putting too much current in that circuit. Usually, that's the result of a short somewhere before there's a load on the circuit. If the alternator was putting out too much, normally it would hit the 100A engine fuse. My first suggestion is to check the harness for rub throughs that are leading to chassis ground shorts. After that, if you're still questioning the alternator, take it off and take it to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and have them test it. If the regulator has failed and its output has gone up, their tests will tell you.
