okay i have a weird electrical problem that comes back every now and than since i swapped to the DE.

basically what happens is when i got to the car, right when it actually put the key to the start position, it makes a slight sound and cuts off power to the entire car.

no lights no 4-ways no power period. battery is good.

the only way to get power back to the car is remove all the fueses from the kick panel or not all but most power related fuses from the car and than put them back in to get power back to the entire car. and if you try to start the car again, the whole entire car loses power again.

so i'm not sure where to start to diagnose the problem, can anyone help me out with this.

89 coupe swapped for DE.

TIA

Sounds like some kind of short in the ignition switch to me, that's all I can think of that would cause anything like that. The fact that you can r&r all the fuses and it works fine again strikes me as very strange. It's not blowing any of the fuses???

hmm i was thinking that actually, but that is correct, no blown fuses, just pull it out and put it back in and i get power to the car again.

i mean when i go to the on position everything works normal, until i put it into the start position to crank it just makes a pop sound and i lose power to everything, even dome lights and 4-ways.

no power at all until i remove all fuses and put them back in again.

That is really strange...

Have you checked the connection of your battery terminals to ensure that they're making good connection, and that your ground is good? It almost sounds like you're blowing a circuit breaker, only I'm pretty sure there's not one in the system! If it was a fuse, or fuseable link then it wouldn't work again after r&ring the fuses.

Very strange...
