Hey, everybody!I'm in the middle of my turbo build up. I found this copper tube that goes from exhaust manifold to the intake manifold. Turned out that it's a EGR tube going (I guess) to EGR valve. What do I do with it. Thank's a lot. :help

Does TX have strict emission laws cuz if not just cut the pipe and cap it... it does nothing but recirculate hot air backinto the intake manifold to heat up the incoming air to prevent hot spots on the piston heads but its really just a waste of space and doesn't serve any purpose... if you do have strict emission laws then your going to have to redirect that pipe some how back on top the manifold of the downpipe

He's in Houston, and they DO have strict emissions laws. I'd still throw it away though :)

Throw that chit away. That thing took me two days to get off. I think it hinders more than helps. Houston is a strict place for emissions, but there are places around town that you can go to that will pass you or you can go to college station and pay 15 bucks and they won't even open up the hood.

Yes houston is strict. But here in college station, they dont do sniff test.I did an inspection to my gf's prelude last week. The only things they checked were:TiresHeadlightsTurn signalsWindshield wipersThats it.

Pull that egr pipe off and throw it away.

Or if you want a clean look take off the EGR completely and make a block plate and cap the vac lines. :)

If you remove the EGR you can take off the BPT valve too. It's the valve sitting right next to it almost on top of it. All it does is control the EGR which when removed is also useless. Really opens up space back there.
