Help... driving me crazy 1997 pathfinder

]Just bought this SE and there no scratches under the Chassy and clean all around,
So it was running really rough
Replaced:
Cap/Wires/Plugs even the back hard to get one
Still running bad little power...
Really hard to start cranking and then starts but has no power till it got warm them rest of the day good but the power is bad..
Wife was driving it sun roof open radio playing till the red stop light and the Pathfinder stalled..
No Start, She got out in traffic and got a tow truck to get it back home,
Checked and found that the coil was arching so Amazon 50.00 later replaced that as well, and tried to start nothing zip-zelch
Have Spark, Smell Gas un did the gas line it squirts out, rotor turns, looked at #2 cylinder compression and spark line up to rotor
Still no Start...
So then I looked at amazon again for Distributor 85.00 free shipping Just got it today put it in nothing still
I even ordered the new timing belt and water pump 95.00
But have not put it in..
Please been trying to get started for a month...
Im starting to think its a boat anchor
Can Some one guide me talk to me help its crazy......

Hi Charlie, welcome to Nico!

Change the fuel filter if you haven't already. It's a quick and cheap fix, and it's likely overdue anyway. Also, clean the MAF sensor (use cleaner made specifically for it; other cleaners can ruin the sensor).

If that doesn't have any effect, hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail to see what the pressure looks like (you can rent them from most auto parts stores).

Is it throwing any codes? When and where are you smelling gas?
