RR the thottle body on '90 Maxima yesterday. Now a have unconnected hose that I can't find find where it goes. I have check my Hanes manuel and Chilton online, but no specific info or pictures about cooling hoses to the engine. Maxima.org hasn't been very helpful either.

The unconnected end is actually a metal pipe about a 1/4" in diameter and about 5" long. At the other end of the unconnected pipe is the hose that eventually connects to the rectangler piece at the upper right hand corner the air intake collector from below.

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera or I post them here. But if a had a camera, I wouldn' feel so lame right now and would have taken pictures before I started.

Please shed some light to my confusion and embassment.

Thanks.

Discovered its the hose that attaches to the Auxiliary Air Control (ACC) valve. However, it looks like the metal piping with 90 degree bend that it attaches to is cracked and my former mechanic bypassed it some how.

Now the question is, where is a proper location to bypass it to. The 5" pipe attached to the hose is not stock. But where did he intend the pipe to attach to? Can I clamp the hose and drive it this mechanic on Monday.

Should I get a new AAC or just replace the cracked pipe? How important is the ACC valve? Haynes manuel says pre '89 Maxima don't have them.
