When I shut my car off my display screen for NAV, radio, etc. stays on. When I restart my car I get this message: Configuration failed because CONSULT is connected, please disconnect CONSULT. What is this?? Does anyone know how to fix this.

I have a 2008 infinti M45

Welcome to the forum.

CONSULT is the diagnostic tool that dealers and shops plug in to your car to find issues...weird that the A/V unit thinks it's connected...or did the dealer leave it plugged in? lol.

Search this forum on how to enter diagnostic mode...may be able to find something in there to test the system.

Hooking up consult will always give you a system test and black screen on the display. That's a weird issue you're having, I've never seen it. Try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes to do a forced system reset and see what happens. Kind of sounds like the BCM isn't going to sleep when the ignition is shut off.

Also check to see that you do not have something connected to your OBD-II port ... (or that the connector does not have shorted wires in some way).

Maybe your significant other stuck in a tracking device into that port! :chuckle:
