Help!! Digital cluster: Temp and Fuel gauges no worky??

I just swapped my analog cluster for a digital one. The digital cluster came out of a SOHC (an 89 I believe) and I have a 91 hatch (DOHC). I swapped the tach like all the walkthroughs say to, and both my speedo and tach work fine...

However, it seems my temp doesn't work. I let it idle for a few minutes and took it for a quick drive down the street. The temp needle never moved. Since the temp and fuel gauges are the original from the SOHC donor, I'm assuming both are busted.

My question is: was I suppose to swap the temp and fuel gauges out from a DOHC too? There was no mention of swapping those out, just the tach...
