Just got my engine back  though I'm broke I'm happy, but i have a few last things to get to put it together, have the gasket kit and all the bearings and timing belt, still need the water pump and oil pump, and all my main and head bolts.. Theres a few factors here, if I can buy all these parts from one place that'd be great, especially with fast shipping, so amazon has me there cuz i have prime with 1 day shipping.. The engine is only going to be around 400hp at the crank this time around, once I pay it off I'll go bigger turbos, but the engine is built to handle good power(wiseco/eagle stuff) my goal is around 700 at the crank, 600 wheels, what I wanna know is with that goal in mind will I be ok with stock mains and heads, or do I need to go with arp or some other brand of bolts? Cuz I'd rather not if I don't have to

Call Z1 or CZP and see what they say. The Z1 site says the stock head bolts are good for "well over' 500 hp.

Food for thought, there is a reason the ARP bolts are $370 and it isn't the name on them.

Well correct the me if I'm wrong, but i was told the price in arp bolts come from the ability of being able to reuse them a few times, and is therefore good for dedicated race engines where someone will be in and out of it a couple times.. I'll give them a call though! That's a good idea

Well, called z1 and what he told me is if I'm on stock turbos I'm fine with stock bolts on both the head and mains, even if I'm pushing the limits of the stock turbos, which is what I'm running this time around. However when i start getting into bigger turbos (disco potatoes in my case) then I will need to go with arp head studs, but that I'll still be fine with stock main bolts. That works for me as when I upgrade my turbos I'll be pulling my stock head gasket for an MLS head gasket, so I can do my head bolts then.

Ha well for the peace of mind I went ahead and got the arp main bolts! It was only an extra $60 to get the arp, and that way when I start pushing it I'll have the peace of mind that I'll never have to worry about my bottom end :)
