SO I have literally checked EVERYWHERE in this area and up to a day's drive away and nothing!

I found one car, down in Tennessee, but it has some hints of rust in the wheel well and the owner doesn't speak good enough English to tell me whats up or something. ACK! :bash:

SO the details: I need a 1987 through 1989 300ZX TURBO with a decent body (dings and paint not important, really. Just has to look "OK"), mechanically sound engine and trans, and for a price somewhere around $3K. It's NOT a pipe dream, I have seen them for that, but I just can't locate one without some kind of drastic issue with it. KBB and others put this car's value way below what folks are trying to sell for, so I don't know WTF these dudes are smoking...

HELP ME CHRIS (HASH)/ GREG / ANYONE!!!

Forgot to add, no red cars and as little rust (duh, lol) as possible.

To be completely honest, if I were to start over and get a Nissan, it'd be a B13. You can find one for that price range too.

If you're just checking CL, did you try a site like this:

http://www.allofcraigs.com/

It will let you search all postings nation-wide. Since I'm not sure exactly where you are located or how far it is feasible for you to travel, I didn't actually put the search in. Though, I have used that site before.

Revised bumpers looks better, 5hp power bump, better cooling, better turbo, higher compression, HLA's. Last two were 88+
That and no retarded voice warning system.

Homeboy knows what's goin' on.

I don't care where the listing comes from, and allofcraigs is about damn useless.

I'd go for 88+ TBH...High mileage cars before that will have pretty worn valvetrain components. The hydraulic lash adjusters really help. When I was looking for my Z, every early car had terrible cam lobe tick.

And that guy with the Shiro is either insane, or accidentally added a one to the front of that number.

If someone can recommend a good shipper and it checks out, then I don't mind it being from the other end of the country. But shipping has to be less than $300... that's not insane, is it?

Here's a Shiro Special '88 Turbo. Guy wants $5500 for it though. May be worth a look if you could talk him down some.

I know it's not the closest thing, but it is well worth the time for such a rare car. And on the price, you have to haggle man. :yesnod

Just to chime it, it cost me ~$500 to ship my 240 from Florida to northeastern Pennsylvania, and that was the cheapest I could find. So best of luck to ya Dat! I approve of this thread.

Your s12 was rarer than 1002 cars produced for the Shiro Z?

 I'm not looking for a Shiro Z? I don't want a Shiro Z! I don't understand why the Shiro keeps getting brought up!

I am looking for a 87-89 turbo Z! Ack!

300.00 for shipping X country is a little low. I paid 750 to have my 240 shipped from NJ to San Diego. I searched every were to get that price. I mean everywhere. Most quotes were in the 1100 - 1200 range and some were 2000+. I bought my 86 Z turbo ( 80k miles, no rust, all original, perfect paint) in the Portland Or area in 02 for 2500. So I'm not sure if the prices in the northwest are always decent or if they just have good deals from time to time. If you do end up needing a car shipped let me know and I'll dig through my records and I will try to find the shipping co I used.

Well I don't see why it's so much to just put the car on a transport truck and just drive it over here from anywhere...

If you look at eBay, alot of the cars there are pretty cheap on transport costs!
