Ignition problem hoping someone can help. The ignition starts the car but will not turn it off. When i stall the car to turn it off all the dash lights stay on and will drain my battery so i have to disconnect it. If i disconnect and reconnect the light all go off. This problem would only occur when it rained then dried it would work fine again but now it wont shut off at all. Its really bothering me any help would be so good. Thanks =D

so you can turn the key to off and take the key out and the car keeps on running? what aftermarket electronic's are on the car? aftermarket alarm? if so, take it out! the ignition swithc and voltage regulator are areas I's also have a look at

Only aftermarket electronics are the deck which is installed correct and never had any problems. Yes it starts the car but i can turn the key to off take the key out and the car doesnt shuut off. Than after i stall thecar out to shut it off all the dash lights stay on. I think its something to do with a short cuz it only happened when it rained now it always happens

hmmm my buddy was having same prob in his 240 we were thinking of replacing the ignition to see if it fixes the problem since that was the only thing left that could be the only reason but now it turns off all a sudden so we're unable to see if that was the main source

You could try taking the cylinder out and checking for continuity in certain key positions. No clue what pins you would want to test though...

Honestly, I think it's the ignition switch. You can try disassembly and see if any wires are loose and touching, and if not, then replace it. You can even get a locksmith to re-key the new lock when you buy it to match your current key.
