I need replacement bulbs for my 01 Infiniti Qx4. Comes with factory D2r's but I dont know what color factory. Problem to me is there not BRIGHT enough. I replaced them with cheapies my buddy had and they suck.

There are a bunch of sets on ebay for $40 shipped, but they are 35w

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Or there is a local company that sells them in your choice of color for $107 CDN shipped

http://www.absolutehid.ca/prod...id=43

I want the brightest I can possibly achieve by simply changing lightbulbs and not upgrading ballasts or wiring. Like is there a BRIGHT 100w version or soemthing to consider.

Id appreciate any help I can get on this

I do ALOT of backroad night driving, and good lights will make a big difference.

If you get those stupid HID's I'll personally come find you and kick your a**.

I'd recommend sticking with stock bulbs.

My cars comes with factory HIDS, not changing anything but bulbs as mine have colourshifted diferently and look stupid, and are not nearly bright enough. I also dont wanna pay the $280/bulb infiniti wants for a stock replacement

So whats the brightest/best bang for the buck bulb I can get here

DDM is CHEAP

http://www.ddmtuning.com/index...nt=85

$15 for a PAIR of D2r's in 6k

And they would simply drop into the factory bulb place no wiring necessary right??

Heck at that price I kinda wanna get a few sets and try out colour change....

Does anyone agree those lights would be fairly bright? Atleast math OEM @ 6k??

Stock is almost certainly 35w. 55w bulbs are harder to find, the ones that are common out there are generally of poor quality. Genuine 55w bulbs are expensive due to their rarity.

As far as color temp goes, stock is usually 2800-3200k. That is color temp and not brightness. 6000k bulbs are not brighter, just a different color. In fact, studies (too lazy to google for backup) have shown the light color for headlights most usable to the human eye is in that 3000k range (maybe up to 4000k - don't remember). I believe the higher temp color is less effective for lighting the road, and most people swap for aesthetic purposes, not functionality.

Are you sure the headlights are aimed properly?

what he said. The QX4 has as auto leveler located to the left of the steering column. Yes those are the bulbs. They just pop right in. When replacing the driver's side headlight you need to remove the grill, and unscrew the headlight housing. To replace the passenger bulb, just remove the battery.

Oh. I stand corrected.

I think you'll be best off sticking with the stock Infiniti ones. They're already HID's and you want them brighter? Damn.

I recommend:

Driving lights. They are awesome for back road driving especially in an area with lots of venison.

Why does it matter? If they are $15, you can't go wrong with ordering some even if they are crap. Just post the results afterward if they break or something later down the road...

Well I have no problem spending $100 on a set if someone says theres another kind that is brighter or gives off better light or a better pattern etc

Why waste $15 when you don't have to though?

Wanna send me $15?
