rb25det series 1 in a 96 s14..cyl #1 is not firing for some reason?

I have: checked wiring, checked spark (and changed the plugs), checked the coil pack, checked and replaced the ignitor chip, maybe some other things that i am too flustered to think of right now...

I have not: checked the injector, checked/adjusted timing

Is it not getting fuel or not getting spark or both?

the easy test is to just pull the injector clip off if it doesnt change exhaust note then the injector is suspect.

I did the same thing to test the coil pack and that didn't change the exhaust note at all.....

if you swap coils around with say cylinder 2 and cyl 2 dies then its the coil, else its the injector.

awesome, i did exactly what you said. I swapped coil #1 and #2 last week and #1 was still dead. so i was right it's narrowed down to that damned injector.

you might want to swap spark plugs between one and two as well.. just to rule that out.. I know you said mentioned new plugs in your first post.. . but you could get a bad plug?.. Just be sure so that you can move on to the next thing...

You could very well have a clogged fuel injector.. try swapping the injectors from 1 to 2 and see what happens then...

sometimes if you give it a good rapp on the side it can free a stuck injector, but its wholy possible that its just dead.

Did you do a compression test? Maybe your #1 cyl is bad. Happens.

might be the yellow vinyl on your headlights... j/k

leakdown or compression test on cylinder 1 and compare it to one that you know is good.

i did a compression test, and #1 wasn't very different from the others maybe 2-3 lower.

You might look into finding a replacement for the igniter. My igniter died last week and it was only not firing cylinder 4.

The ignitor has been changed also.....but I'm not sure what ignitor is on the car right now, i'm going to take a pick of it and post it up here tonight.
