Hi everyone, I need some help.I went to my local "city garage" where one of the services was to replace my ATF oil. The last time I had it done, it was Max Life ATF. This time around, they replaced it with CVT Fluid. They told me they can use it in 2003+ altimas. But my owner manual says to use Matic-d. ( i suppose Max Life is a good enough equivelent). I called back city garage, and they said it is fine to use CVT.

May big concern is should I bring it back? Is CVT fluid ok to use in a 2005 altima (non-cvt car)? Can they really flush the old stuff out and replace it with the matic-d style fluid?

Is my car hosed? Thanks!

Im sorry but 02-06 Altima's did not come with CVT and that fluid should not be used. Use MATIC D or equivalent. Either that or they are gonna owe you a new transmission. I dont know why they used CVT. That runs close to $20 a quart.
