HELP! cruise control not working

hi i just bought the truck and my crusie doesnt work at all. it has ICC but nothing works.

the cruise light comes on in the dash but will not engage. i have checked the fuse, cleaned the radar in the bumper and checked the conector at the radar

any idea's or common problems? ive searched the forum and it look's like knowone has the answer for this or any cruise related problem's except for "take it to the dealer"

Well, I don't really know what would be wrong. I know you don't want to read it, but I would just take it to the dealer - even if I knew what was wrong and how to fix it. Why? It's something you will use at high speeds, and when people use it they tend to not pay attention - so it's something that needs to work.

I have the same problem, I used the ICC last in July to go to Vegas. I went to Vegas again a couple of weeks ago and tried to use it and it wouldn't engauge. The Cruise control light in the dash was blinking then stoped and blinked again then stoped but never accually truned on.

i like to use it on the highway and also i like everything to work on my cars.

i tested the vacum side and that works so im thinking it could be the motor

will the cruise work if i take the radar out completly?

first of all, what "radar" are you talking about. There is no radar associated with the ASCD (automatic speed control device) in the QX4. The only device i can think of in the front bumper is the temperature reading device which is for the outside temp display. I suggest you download the factory service manual for your QX4, free, at http://www.phatg20.net/compone...id,14/ There is about 20 pages worth of info on the cruise control, with 5 pages of useful troubleshooting info. (same resource that a dealer would use to troubleshoot). Good luck, let us know what the problem was.

maybe i dont. my qx4 does not have a radar but now i see that the 2002 has it as an option. my apologies. ICC sounds "dumbed down" to me but thats my opinion. I personally dont want my QX4 to turn off CC for me. Again, download the Infiniti FSM at the link i provided - it has diagrams of the cruise control system as well as a very useful troubleshooting section. Or you can just take it to the dealer and pay them to read the same thing and take the same steps listed.
