help/comments on my 88 D21 Reg Cab VG30E 5spd 4x4

I work at a junkyard in the area near me, and my brother and I Decided we needed a new yard truck, found this in the farthest corner of our yard and yanked it out with the help of the tow ranger.Found that it was actually in decent shape and had a 4" body lift, 33" Tires that were fairly new, and a strong engine and transmission.

Went to the Local Harrys U Pull It the next day, picked up a passengers side taillight, and some other stuff, and on the way home got a new alternator belt to fix the starting issue.Changed the belts, Started it up with a jump from my dads car, and let it charge for a bit, Than tore up the yard in it, noticed that the bed was pretty rotted, as we launched it a bit, and the bed snapped from the mounts on the drivers corner by the cab. Thinking of going stakebody with it, Until we can find a new bed at least.

Onto the pictures, It's a 1988 D21, with 645k actual miles. and it runs strong as hell. Heres some pics.



If Anyone can give me a good list of places to get parts for it, and a source for such items as a brushguard, a tube rear bumper and some other stuff, I'd really appreciate it.

http://www.4x4parts.com or ARB's website oughta do the trick. I love the flat headlight models! Oh and BTW I would replace the CHTS(cylinder head temp sensor) pretty quickly since it looks like nobody's worked on that thing in a long time. peace.

anyways to fix the bed and stuff on it? My brother and I, kind of jumped a tire mound, and the bed mount nearest to the drivers cab corner snapped, causing the bed to rub the wheels.I was thinking cost effectively for now, it would be cheaper to build a stakebody.As at work, my boss may help me purchase a 1991 Nissan Cab and Chassis for 300 bucks, that runs and drives, and if that is in good enough shape, We'll swap the bed and stuff onto this truck.

Also, We're looking for a bullbar, a tube rear bumper, and a small winch, so if anyones got reccomendations on some good ones, places to get them, etc.. just let me know please.

645k miles? Really? WOW!

Check the frame for rot, particularly from about mid cab on back. Do the hammer test....smack those frame rails and see if it dents easily, or if the hammer goes through.
