your where rigth the top nut was the problem i loose it a little bit and now is noise free thanks9sec240 wrote:The pillowball in the top of the strut is not doing its job.
Your suspension is supposed to rotate on the pillowball like a bearing. Its not turning so instead the spring is slipping in on the perch making that sproingggg noise.
Turn your wheel and watch the nut in the center of your front strut plate. If it rotates when you turn your wheel, everything is good. If it does not rotate, then you have an issue. Usually you can lube it up and get that working again.

a +- 3 interval prob wont make too much of a difference think about it.try 10 front 20 rear..but then it might be a lil bouncy in the rear..compared to the frontmartins_240sx wrote:I have megans also...with no problems, just some squeaking. mine are set to 10front and 7 rear...I have mine softer in the front for less understeer...hopefully
Anybody? I searched a bit more and saw a thread saying not to mess with the nut so I dont wanna loosen it, but is WD-40 enough of a lube?-ExCesS- wrote:Bumping this because I have the same prob.
Should I loosen the top nut or can I spray it with WD-40?
I <3 search button
same, what lube are you using?94_240sx wrote:I have Stance GR+ Pro and it makes noise when I turn. I put front wheels up in the air and no noise. I think I should lube up the pillow ball mount and see what happens. The noise wasn't there when I first installed them though.
yeah thats right..my badI mis read your posttook understeer for oversteer.. lol just glanced at it ..yeah i completly misread your postmartins_240sx wrote:dont you mean 20 in the front and 10 in the rear...since it gets harder the closer to zero....correct me if Im wrong but wouldnt you want it harder in the rear so that there is less understeer and with a rigid rear you would get a better slide....?
I don't know. Maybe WD-40? Guys, what should I use????-ExCesS- wrote:

This makes more sense. I have no preload at all. I'm still learning about all this suspension stuff. It looks like noise is not going to hurt anything, so I'll take care of it when I jack up the front of my car next time. Thanks for the info.babowc wrote:Add more preload.Add enough so the spring is on there pretty tightly.Dont forget to hammer down your perches. That'll be it of the noise.
I'll try this as well tonight. Little bit of WD-40 shouldn't hurt much I guess.-ExCesS- wrote:Just gonna spray my pillow ball with WD-40.
Okay, I just put ONE drop of WD-40 on the pillow ball joint and noise is completely gone. Can't believe it was that simple to fix it. Yeah, I think it was a pillow ball joint. I have Stance GR+ Pro. I think this is what's been happening to me.94_240sx wrote:I'll try this as well tonight. Little bit of WD-40 shouldn't hurt much I guess.
