help code 45

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

my car is a 90 240 it runs great some times. but other times it acts like its running out of gas. its blinking code 45. the o2 sensor is new and the fuel pump is also new. can any one tell me what wrong with my car. thanks

if I can remmeber right... I think 45 stands for injector leak.

There is no code 45. At least its not on my list.

ni2s4s0asnx, your wrong, 45 is a code,, i think you mean 55, 55 is no code. 45 i'm most positive is an injector leak

oh and also 44 is no code stored as well as 55.

45 is an injection fuel leak.

hey everybody,,, i just looked up ECU codes and info for the single cam KA and I was once again right, code 45 for the KA24E stands for injector leak!

if you guys need proof your gonna have to search up on it like i did in yahoo.. type in KA24E ecu codes.

Since it's an injector leak, make sure you follow proper procedure to replace any injectors or o-rings. It's a real pain if you mess up the first time. There's already like 4 threads about those procedures. Good luck and keep us updated.

I replaced all the O rings and the o2 sensor. It runs a lot better but the engine light came back on today. I only runs rough when at idle and when holding at a constant rpm on the highway.

If it runs rough at idle and at constant speeds, you could have another o-ring damaged. I had to replace the o-rings 3 times on 1 injector before I finally got it right. Sometimes they tear a bit while installing, basically impossible to see it when it happens.
