:helpI recently had the car up on jack stands doing some general 'checks' on the car and.....

When I got back in the car after checking the stuff, I went to start the car and the clutch hit the floor! I was pissed! I know that it isn't the clutch (had a new one put in 2 years ago and when the transmission was rebuilt they told me the clutch was as good as new) But after a little bit the clutch had some engagement... but only near the floorboards. Enough to get it into gear and move it. Now after driving around town some there is a good bit more engagement in it, but still not as much as there used to be, only about half of the whole movement affects the clutch.

The only thing that I can think happened was that when I was under the car I hit the 'withdraw lever' a few times on accident and pushed it in when I bumped it. It seemed to go back into the original position so I didn't worry........ My only thought is that when I pushed it in I somehow got air into the system (thus causing the lack of clutch engagement and the variation of engagement...) I am going to attempt to follow the FSM and bleed out the clutch (hopefully that works) tomarrow and see what happens!

Any thoughts, ideas, or encouragement would be great!(or you could just tell me how stupid I am for bumping the clutch assembly and that I should have left it alone! :rolleyes

Anyway, thanks in advance!
