Hello everyone,

My name is Denny and we just purchased a 2012 Rogue for my wife and she loves it.

We have noticed a "Double Clicking Noise" when we close the door. It will only happen when "the last door is closed" and it definitely sounds like and electrical component clicking and the clicking seems to come from the roof area.

Anybody know what that is? :gotme

Thanks.

Hi Zonker,

Welcome to the NICO Rogue forum!

I think your lack of responses is likely due to the heading "Introduction" that you chose for this thread. It doesn't draw people's interest or alert them to the fact that you have an issue and are asking for help/input/discussion. I'd recommend posting your introduction in our existing sticky thread at the top of the main Rogue page. With your permission I'd like to change the title of this thread to "Help - Clicking Noise When Doors Close". I think the new title will stimulate the conversation, we have a lot of members who are very eager to help, all we need to do is let them know that you are asking for input!

By the way, I have never heard the noise you're describing, I can't even guess at what might be causing the noise.

Yes, go ahead and change the title.

Thank you.

The noise is definitely something "electric/electronic". Almost sounds like a power door lock kinda click and it is coming from the roof area. By the way, she has a sunroof.

The clicking noise only happens "when the last door is closed". If you close one door and another is open it does not make the clicking sound. Also, it is a double click: "Click, Click".

Thanks again for your help.

Could Be the security system or alarm arming its self. Just by the fact that you said with the last door closes it clicks.
Try closing the door with the car on.

No alarms or alterations. Car is totally stock as it came from the dealer.

i would head back to the dealer and show them. somewhere a relay is clicking for some reason. i have the 2008 so my speedo is different than yours, along with a couple other "behind the scenes" mods they did with the updated year/models. - so its tough to tell what it could be.

but my guess would be: dome light timer relay, alarm relay, speedometer relay that shows when a door is open/etc.

Well, the mystery continues. We tried it with the "keyless entry thing" in our pocket and we also tried it with the transponder away from the car and it makes the noise either way. Then I put my wife in the car with the ignition "on" and it does not make the noise.

So, we have concluded that it is something "setting" or "re-setting" or whatever. When we take it in for the first service (3 months or 3000 miles) I will ask the tech if he knows what it is.

Thanks for all your input.
