This is a crazy question I guess but.. in the cracks of my seats I have what looks like sand or grit. I've vaccumed and wiped but..its still there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

try blowing it out with air next time you check your tire pressure.

Use a soft toothbrush and a shop vac. Spread the seam as you clean it.

Also, remember: Cleaning a leather seat is just like cleaning skin - it's skin.

Use a good "soap" (Lexol makes a good product, get it at Pep Boys). Spray it on a washcloth and rub it into the seat surface, then use a damp towel to remove it (rinse / wring the towel a few times until all soap is gone).

Then, use a protectant (again, Lexol makes a good one). Spray it on a washcloth (get it good and damp) and apply it liberally to the whole seat. Park out in the sun and let it soak into the pores. Wipe the next day with a dry soft towel.

303 Aerospace protectant is another great product for the leather seats in a G.

I don't think 303 is made for leather. It's a great product, and I could be way wrong, but I'd use a leather conditioner rather than 303.

303 was recommended constantly over at the autopia forum, so I gave it a try and it is awesome stuff.

Use it ONLY on treated leather (the smooth stuff), but it's also perfect for the dash, rubber trim, etc.

Try the leatherique system. Used by restorers on vintage Rolls, Bentleys, etc. I have used extensively and if you follow the instructions it is most likely the best out there. Amazing difference from a conditioner. Detailers Domain stocks it or google it and buy direct.

^ Correct. Leatherique is by far the best I've found. I didn't recommend it in this case because, well, it's pricey, and most people really aren't willing to go all-out like some of us.

I like Zaino's "Leather in a Bottle" as well.
