Hi all, I recently made an impulse purchase, SRT8 6 piston brakes with adapters for the Z32. I'm really pumped to install these, but my current wheels do not fit. I'm currently running an 18x9 +24mm offset. The inside of the wheel is only 16" in diameter so they rub the calipers, and I can't get the wheel on far enough to put a lug nut on. Those of you who have these brakes installed, what wheels do you have? I've seen people run these brakes on 17" wheels, so I'm kind of confused and pretty pissed off. Any info is appreciated! thank you all in advance!

please ignore the powder coating... I'm aware it looks like utter garbage.

I have some thoughts, but please be advised, they're probably not what you want to hear. However, you asked, and we don't blow smoke up anyone's butt, so here ya go:

Z32 brakes are phenomenal - even 30 years later, they're STILL used on TONS of track builds. If you're able to lock up your front wheels, bigger brakes aren't doing a thing for you. In fact, I suspect your tires are the weak link (99% of times, that's the case). All those calipers are going to do is screw up the braking balance (and add weight).

In fact, the swept area (surface area of the rotor contacted by the pads) doesn't look to have changed at all. Did you go with a bigger rotor? If not, pull those off and sell them - they're not doing anything, and any real car enthusiast is gonna see the overhang and wonder WTF you were thinking.

If you want massive calipers for the cool factor, I get it - but you can't be "pissed off" if they don't play nice with your wheels. That's simple physics. You've gotta run the same diameter rotor that those calipers were designed to work with, also... and you're gonna need bigger wheels, plain and simple.

I realize that may all sound brutal, but bad info isn't what we do here. That's what Facebook is for. ;)

p.s. Would like to see more of that Z!

I have 14" sport 370Z rotors on the way, I was just test fitting with the wheels. I bought my current wheels 1 year ago, but have had fitment issues in the rear because I just bought wheels off of FB cause I didn't have loads of money. I love the way they look, but I have to let them go regardless. this is what the brakes ought to look like when finished.

Yeah, if you're on a budget, I'm guessing the car needs more important things than ridiculously-oversized calipers.

Might get you some street cred with the high school kids who know nothing about cars, but that's overrated.

Glad you're here man, welcome aboard!
