Hi, i have recently swapped a s13 redtop into my s14. Right after i took the car out of the shop after getting it wired. My car dies out of the freeway. I tow it back to my house and check the battery, the battery was dead so i got a new one. Then just to make sure i also checked the alternator, it wasnt charging so i figured that it was the alternator, now i just put a new one on and it still does not charge the battery. What could it be???

well the thing is i can drive the car just fine. It idles perfect, pulls hard.... Its just that my alternator for some reason is not charging the battery, so whenever i would drive the car i would be running of the battery. If my battery runs low enough my car will actually die out.

Any help would be greatly appeciated..

I have the EXACT same problem with my 240sx. I too replaced battery & alternator but the car will still go dead on the freeway. for months I've been keeping it going like this: When I see the signs of low electrical power, (radio quiet, vent fan is weak, and most of all, windshield wipers slow) then I just put it in neutral and rev the engine over 4,000 rpm for just a split second. Everything will come back to life! ...Until it happens again about two or three days later. PLEASE POST a fix if you find one. Thanks!

you guys need to get your cars on a VAT45. ( voltage amperage tester ) test charging and electrical system. most checkers will test it for free.

good luck
