Last weekend I pushed the button to switch from radio to CD, and got the message "Eject CD". (I have all 6 positions full). Strange, since I didn't try to load a CD, but I pushed the eject button, to no avail. Turns out the CD player is frozen on that screen, and I can't eject or play!

I had already scheduled a dealer visit for yesterday, so I added this to the list. Today the tech rep said, "Yep, your CD player is frozen, but there's nothing I can do. You need to buy a new unit, for $1200."

Is this possible? Anyone have a great idea that could work???

Sorry to hear of the problem. Ouch!

Are you out of warranty, btw? That amount sounds like a lot of money to spend.

Might be worth looking into an after-market unit, I guess. Since I don't know of any, I hope that others can respond and chime in.

BTW, this is one of the reasons that I strongly recommend getting an Infiniti Extended Warranty ... in our modern cars, the electronics are expensive. On the rare occasions that you need them, the warranty makes it worth it.

Also, please contact http://www.everythinginfiniti.com to get the best prices on OEM replacement parts (or Courtney - I think that is the name - at Scottsdale Infiniti in AZ for the Infiniti Extended warranty).

Good luck with this issue!

Can you do anything like listen to the radio or sat radio? If you can then I would say get you and ipod and a interface to connect it directly to your M. I did and I'm really happy with the outcome. I had my dealer replace the CD player under warranty a few months ago, but felt I would have problems latter down the on.. Good luck.

I had similar problem with my 06 M35x. CD player wont accept CD's, "eject disc" message was being displayed on the screen. Took the car to the dealer and they ordered a new head unit from Bose and replaced it. It was still under warranty.

Sadly, the car is out of warranty. (I put 22k/yr on it). Luckily the radio and sat radio are working fine, so I'm not totally out of luck, but I would prefer to be able to use the CD, too.

Thanks for the ideas though!
