so i get back into my car to turn it off and to my surprise it doesn't turn over.so i boosted it and it runs so i drive for a bit then at a stoplight when im in neutral it dies out. so i boost it again and its fine everything is great so i turn the car off again and it won't start. so the car only starts with a boostdies after i drive it and come to stop without keeping the rev's upwhat could it be?i don't think its the battery because my dome light still turns on.help me guys im in a tuff spot.

The battery's probably just really dead. I had the same thing happen to me about a month ago. Interior lights worked but there wasn't enough power to start the car without a jump, so I got a new batterey and it started up like a champ.

or try hooking a volt meter up to the battery when it's running if you are not reading 13-14 volts it's your alternator

check the battery terminals. And try some throttle body cleaner and some fuel system treatment. Some new plugs will help as well.:)

the dome lights would work with a AA battery so that is not a good indication. battery is most likely the problem, if not get your alternator checked out. if they both are working fine then you might have real problems

not necessarily...i had a really dead optima that when hooked up would only give me 11volts after a jump.it would sustain that but not improve, even after driving around for an hour.leaving it unhooked sitting in the car it would completely drain overnight. i put a 30$ autozone battery in there and i get 14volts all day long.moral of the story...don't let your optima go dead,or don't buy one to start with they don't take well to recharging.
