Car: Not a 240 =) Thinking of getting one again...

Post

I already posted this in the tech section and I'm sorry for posting here also... But I really need to fix this problem as the car is my daily driver to go to work and back..... If a mod feels that this should not be here, please delete this thread. But I really need help

I was driving around and turned the car off and now it wont turn back on. The car would not even crank, the starter is good since I tested it by giving direct power to the battery to the starter. I have no clue what it is.... I thought it was my alarm so I disabled my alarm but still the same thing. When I turn the ignition, the temp gauge goes up to normal but nothing else works. Lights dont flick or anything. Just doesnt crank and dont start.... PLEASE HELP!!!

have you checked all your fuese, if the ECU fuse is gone it wont crank, other than that, check the battery connections, and ground straps

When you give direct power to the starter from the battery does the starter turn over, if not then i'd double check the starter

When I give it direct power to the starter while having the key turned to ignition, the car will just start so I dont think its the starter.

look at it closely if the metal inside is broken then its bad, if you have an ohm meter check for continuity. if its infinite then its open (BAD).

I had a stupid problem where the wire to the starter was crimped to the point that the starter couldn't get direct current. Replaced the starter and still didn't start and finally jiggled the wire a bit and she fired right up....kinda lame but it worked for me.
