I was driving at the freeway and suddenly kills the motor. Keep starting motor, it cranks but it wont start until I check the distributor cap that have a burned mark on the midde part where the ignition coil conected to. I change a new distributor cap and rotor. Still wont run. any suggestions?

I change spark plug wires, spark plug, distributor, distributor cap & rotor, ignitor chip, and Ignition coil. I check relay it makes clicking sound, so i think its fine. Fuel pump pumping sound from the fuel tank, so thats fine.

I know...Problem is I bought another 240sx coupe '90 with KA24E stock. trying to get it start, so that I can run it to the shop for smog. Last six months got smog pass records from the previous owner, and I am trying to transfer to my name. Then swaping everything out. By the way all the parts I used is came from a running KA24E. I CHECK starter its OK no problem.

so your not getting spark..how about fuel? if you arent getting spark then check your coilpacks and ignitor for voltage and continuity. and even your spark plugs just for the hell of it. also after installing the new CAS have you adjusted the timing?

If your not getting spark then guess what its in your ignition system somewhere. If the car cranks over your relay for the clutch is fine.

did you ever check for voltage and continuity of your ignitor and coilpacks? btw just to clarify..did you have a buddy move your cas back and forth numerous times while you tried to start it..the timing could have been off

so we have determined that your coilpacks and ignitor are good..is your tps set at the correct voltage at idle? .45volts to .55volts? im thinking your ecu took a crap on you now man

I found the problem, now its sparking just one ground wire was corroded & loose. And I start it again still wont start. I check everything already, but when I check and took out the vavle cover and found out that my chain broke down, and the cam gear went of from the cam shaft. I guess that the cam shaft bolt went loose then the cam gear went down with the chain breaking the chain guide. So I need a CAMSHAFT, TIMING CHAIN, & CHAIN GUIDE. I am hoping it still works fine, so I guess I have to find out after installing the replacement parts. Also how can I found out if I have a bend or bent valves??? Its seems to be fine when I look at them.

I got everything installed and done, and I know that I alligned the timing chain the right place. The oil pump & the distributor are installed where it was originally. And it now having hard time to run the motor. You can hear some sounds like back fire into the cylinder, but not thru the exhaust. When I took out the all 4 spark plugs; the first cylinder only have smoke into it, but not the rest???? hmmm... What can I do next?

It also having a hard time to crank sometimes & most of the time not, but the battery, and the starter works fine when I check them with the mutlimeter....
