Help! Car won't shift into park. auto transmission

just picked up a 1991 240sx le. runs well when it starts, but when i try to put it into park mode, it fights back. it wont let me take the key out of the ignition, so im sitting there shifting back and forth between park and drive, and that sometimes works. please help me figure out why and how this happening and how to fix it! XD

i dont know much, but you could just go get a new (or used from junkyard) key setup. and just leave the car in N and use the ebrake lol
