Yeah Im having problems with my ca idle. It will start and stay on if you keep on the gas but once you let off it just dies. I replaced the wire harness, maf, ignitor, also got the ecu retuned . I have no clue what it could be does any one have suggestions

Have you ever let the car warm up?

A little research would have helped you here because one of the biggest problems with ca swaps is the cold idle you bhave to baby the throttle until its up to normal running temperature

It will be there until you find out what the problem is. It could be the air regulator or the AICV usually they just need to be cleaned.

around here a year is nothing.

to to name part horder names or anything

are you using any gauges? Vac/boost, oil pressure, a/f, ect.....

could be a vac leak, could be your IAT senor, TPS, or even just something stupid like a cold start issue(usually from the ignitor not properly grounded or other grounding issues)

Ps I would fire it up and try and atleast get it to runnig temp then see if it holds. before you do so check out your plugs and make sure they arent drowning.....

Plugs looks fine. When it is running its running really rich. Smoking bad, I turned the FPR down and that doesnt help. I havent installed the gauges yet maybe i should do that

very easily it could be your IAT sensor, TPS, or maf wiring.

can you list off for us what you DID try?

did you sit on the throttle till it got to operating temp?

did you check to make sure your ignitor was properly grounded? Rico had this cause alot of issues.........

I've seen guys wire up CA's with no AFM, turbo spinning into free air, and engine idles fine. I never saw that with any of my motors...to be honest.

Is it possible the injectors dropping resistor is broken or missing?

I'd disconnect the AAC valve (green or brown connector) and set the idle with a 10mm spanner on the hex adjuster.

So many things can stop a CA from idling:1. clogged idle control unit2. incorrectly adjusted Cam Angle Sensor3. incorrectly adjusted Throttle position sensor4. incorrectly wired coils5. insufficient 12V for injectors.6. dirty ground for coils..7. engine is FUBAR'd and you've been ripped off by the importer.

i'm still having this exact problem. anybody got some more answers? :

i already grounded my ignitor. i put new plugs in. i already cleaned the idle air control thingy, no difference. i already tried to unplug both electrical connections to the idle air control and the car does nothing.

right now i just baby the throttle open until it warms up. after it warms up it runs fine but does not want to idle. i turned up the screw with a nut on the t body to get it to idle, the vacuum gauge reads 20 at idle and holds boost at 10 psi with my foot in it. any help guys?
