I know I had a bad tps so I changed the TPS and still my car wont hold idle. This is the symptoms so far.

While driving at a easy-moderate pace I lost all throtle control all of a sudden. Id hit the gas and nothing. So I thought my TPS sensor finally went out. So I changed it this morning and the car still the same problem. Ive read that if its the MAF it should idle normal and just not rev past 2500 rpms. But when I start it sometimes it goes right to 2000 for cold start idles for like 5 seconds and then dies. I still have no throttle response. Other times I start it and it wont even climb to 1000 and it just then dies. Could it be my IACV valve as I was dropping down to like 400 rpms while pulling up to lights and then it would rise back up to 800rpms like normal.

If its the MAF can I make a Ka24de MAF work or does it have to be a SOHC maf? IF its IACV can I clean it to make it work?

Also I still do not have any throttle response... I hit the gas and nothing happens. What is this a sign of?

no throttle response at all? i mean you just punch the gas and the rpms dont go anywhere? or the rpms go to a certain point and stop? are you running rich at all? to me this sounds like a bad ecu. a dirty iacv could cause bad idle such as how your idle drops down to 400rpms at a light and bounce back up but no throttle response probably isnt a dirty iacv..just go ahead and take the idle air adjustment screw out and spray lots of carb cleaner in there. take a piece of would put it on the valve and tap the wood with a hammer to loosen up carbon..use a air compressor to spray air into the valve. if that doesnt solve your problem then turn your key on and you will see a l.e.d. on the back of your ecu come on..now start the engine and if that l.e.d. stays on then the ecu is bad and thus your problem..if the light goes off then move on..check your maf voltage..let us know

Update - unplugged the maf it it starts right up. So the maf is the culprit. Next question is do I have to rewire a SOHC maf to work with my SR? Or is it just plug and play. Also what is the hp limits of the SOHC maf

oh yes forgot to answer that..the sohc maf works..dont know for sure but my guess is the sohc maf has 3 wires..a 12v, 5v, and ground..just have to go to the ka section of this forum and ask which color wire is which wire
