HI any experts here. My car smells like a freaking gas station while running. The funny thing is, if I close the windows, I can't smell it. I dun wanna pay a lot of money for just inspection. Anyone would try to gimma an educated guess what the problem might be?? If there's leak, how can I fix it?

Leaky injectors or o-rings. Look for gas underneath the injectors with the engine running.

How long has it been going on first of all. Can you tell if the smell is stronger towards the front or rear of the car? The first step wil be to determine why you are getting that smell. Then you can figure out how to fix it.

Well, I am not sure. But, it's from the front by intuition. because i could smell it while I am drving at 50+ mph.. and if it's coming form the back, i shouldn't be able to smell it because of the wind direction...just my guess.

thansk for replying guyS!!

Uh.. no, not necessarily. Try putting down your rear seats to see if the smell is stronger.

mine was leaking o rings so bad it was puddlign fuel in the intake manifold depressions... so anyway I changed the o rings and it stopped that.on a hot day though, the cover that goes over the fuel tank in the trunk must leak a little bit, because when you pop the trunk there is a bit of a gas smell. the fuel pump is tightened down good, and the rubber lines are good, but 2 of the screws broke off the inspection cover so I guess it vents just a bit.
