My car has been getting like 3 miles to the gallon. I thought it was the fuel pressure regulator so I changed that. While it was running I noticed that I had a rotted out vacuum line coming from the egr valve on the intake manifold to that disc looking vacuum thing located right next to the fuel pressure regulator. It looks like an FMU that you see on turbo kits. KA guys should know this vacuum thing that I am talking about.
Anyway, once I took the broken line off while the car was running (very dumb idea) the car then started running super rich and can barely keep idle while pouring out black carbon smoke from the exhaust. I know the computer should see the changes made and correct everything but its not.Its running too rich to drive.
I have good compression, I already did a full tune up and oil change. What do you guys think is the problem? Could it be a bad EGR valve? Bad MAF sensor? Or do you think the ECU needs to be reset? and if so how do I reset it?
Please, someone respond...this is my daily driver and I can't keep bumming rides. SOMEBODY, HELP!!!!!!!!!!
