Just bought a '90 SOHC.

Couple issues. Car idled a bit high but i turned it down some on the ECU when checking for error codes.Car stumbles just a bit at idle. Defnite stumble under mid throttle cruise/accel. no sumble under full acceleration. Car smells like its running rich.

Main problem is that when im pulling up to a stoplight and put the clutch in the rpms fall all the way and the engine dies. It will start right back up and idle pretty well.

ECU gave a "13" error code which is the engine temp sensor. I will replace that first thing tomorrow. Could that be causing all this. I kind of doubt it.

Thinking maybe Air regulator, or AIV, or IACV, or O2 sensor?

any help appreciated

my problem.. i thought was iacv, but i didnt feel like replacing that.. since is so freaking hard to get to..

so i adjusted my idle screw a bit, and my car purrs like a cat.

did you turn the screw while your car was running?.. if so, you're supposed to turn car off, unplug TPS (?i didnt..) and twist

hope it helped.

i had that problem before. removed the aiv unit. car idled fine afterwards. here's a link zerothread?id=26150

if that's not the problem that's fine also. you can shave i forgot how much that system weighed 5lbs-10lbs? + it makes the engine bay look cleaner
