help car died and got to get back running

about 2 weeks ago. ran out of gas. since then car has run crappy, stalling, smoking greyish. black when blowing out the motor to stop stumble. used insta start to fire off when car ran out of gas. thought maybe got on mass air flow. can hear fuel pump running in trunk. thinking maybe crap in fuel filter. problem i have is i have no manual on car or locations of any sensors etc to check things out. any body got one they could email copies of pages to me. desperate
